Video of Self-defense Techniques for People in Wheelchairs

The instructor of the martial arts / self-defense demo recently held at the West Chester YMCA posted video of some of the event to Facebook. I previously discussed posting video of the techniques he teaches to people with disabilities (which he also uses) on this blog, and took the liberty of sharing video on the PhillyACCESS Facebook page. Unfortunately, I was unable to embed the video into a blog post (at least into a PhillyACCESS post, as it kept going into another blog of mine). I will add it to this post later if I can figure out how to do it.

The techniques in the specific video that we have on the Facebook page are advanced, and, unfortunately, the audio is difficult to hear. But I thought it was a good opportunity to really show readers what is possible in the self-defense area.

I actually took the beginner portion of the class taught at the Y this past spring. I was a bit skeptical that it would benefit me due to my cerebral palsy, but by the end of the class I definitely felt that I had learned some valuable skills.
